Quick and cheap DIY Landmine

This is a pretty easy project, it took maybe 20 minutes and cost less than $20 to make.

Materials:

2 inch pvc pipe

4 inch swivel caster wheel - diameter of the wheel doesn’t matter as long as the width is 2 inches or more

1/4 x 1 inch lag screws

1/4 washers

Tools:

Dewalt sliding mitre saw

Dewalt cordless drill

Drill press - alternatively, the holes can also be drilled using a cordless drill

Adjustable wrenches

First step, disassembling the wheel.

Next, we’re going to cut our pvc to 12 inches

Your standard mitre saw will easily cut plastic pipe. I’ve also seen people use metal pipe, but plastic is durable and much easier to cut and drill through

I measure the bolt with a caliper, it’s just under 1/2 an inch, so I use a half inch forstner bit with my drill press. Any half inch drill bit will work for this step. If you don’t have a drill press, you can use a cordless drill.

After the hole is drilled, it takes just a minute to assemble.

I use quarter inch lag screws to secure it in place. Make sure you’re fastening it to something stable.

I use a swivel caster for this because I want a wide range of movement. You can also use a fixed caster if you only need up and down movement.

I try a few different exercises and it holds in place perfectly.

You could also double up your landmines to add even more variety.

What new exercises can you do with your new DIY landmine? Here are 40 to start off with!
